Forecast Partner Balance
What it does

Look ahead, not only back

Odoo's Aged Receivable and Aged Payable reports look backwards: how late each amount is. To plan collections and payments you also need the opposite question answered: how much falls due in the coming days and weeks. This module adds a Next Due view to both reports. One click switches the same page between the two, keeping your date, your partners and every other filter.

Know what your customers will pay you, and what you will pay your suppliers, in the next 30, 60 or 90 days.

Both views share one page: no new menu to learn, and the menus simply read Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

Unfold partners, open the invoices behind any amount, and export to PDF or Excel, exactly as in the aged view.

How it works

From the aged view to what falls due next

Step 1

Open Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable

You will find both in the Partner Reports section of the accounting Reporting menu. They open on the familiar aged view. The Report button in the filter bar now offers a second choice, Next Due Receivable (or Next Due Payable).

Step 2

Read what falls due next

The Next Due view sorts every open amount by its due date, looking forward. Due holds everything due by the report date. The next columns hold what falls due in the following 1-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 91-120 days, and Later holds the rest. The total is the same as in the aged view: the same money, in a different order.

Step 3

Adjust the periods

The period length and the "Based on" choice of the aged view work here too. Set 60 days and the columns become 1-60, 61-120, and so on. Base them on the invoice date instead of the due date when that is how you plan.

Good to know

Considerations

  • Nothing changes in the aged view. It shows exactly what Odoo shows without this module.
  • Due includes today. An invoice due on the report date counts as due, not as upcoming.
  • Hiding it. An administrator can archive the Next Due report in the accounting reports configuration; the Report button then offers "Enable more..." to bring it back.
  • Reports by Currency. If you also use our Reports by Currency module, its currency button works in the Next Due view as well, with the amounts in the chosen currency.
