Manufacturing
What it does

Your Bodor nests, already in Odoo

Bodor's nesting software saves each job as an NCEX file: the plates, the parts and how many pieces of each are placed on every nest. This module reads those files for Nest Importer, so each nest becomes a manufacturing order without retyping anything. NCEX files carry no weights, so the sheet's cost is shared by the weights of your products in Odoo.

Each nest in the file becomes its own manufacturing order, with its plate count.

The cost share uses the weights you keep on your products.

A file that names a plate or part it does not define is refused, never guessed.

How it works

From an NCEX file to a manufacturing order

Step 1

Upload your NCEX files

In Manufacturing, Import Nests, add one or more NCEX files. Each one shows Bodor NCEX as its format, with the orders and plates it will create, before anything is imported.

Step 2

Set up the import once

The Nest Import settings give the orders their operation type and laser work center. Because NCEX carries no weights, the sheet is always weighed by its product in Odoo.

Step 3

Problems stop the batch, not your work

Every file is checked before anything is created. A part without a weight in Odoo, a missing product or a file nobody can read is shown on its own line, and the batch waits until it is fixed or removed.

Step 4

Parts share the cost by their Odoo weight

Each nest is a confirmed order with the plate as its component and the parts as its by-products. Their cost share is computed from the weights on the products, and the order says so in its weight basis.

Considerations

  • Installs Nest Importer. The import itself, its settings and the orders it creates come from Nest Importer, which is installed with this module.
  • Weights are needed in Odoo. Every plate and part must have a weight on its product, because the file has none.
  • No remnants. NCEX does not describe remnants, so the parts carry the whole cost of the plate.
  • Product codes. Plates and parts are found by the code in brackets in their name, or by the whole name when there is none.
  • Files that are refused. A file that is not a valid NCEX package, or a nest that names a plate or part the file does not define, is marked Not ready.
