CypNest Importer
Your CypNest nests, already in Odoo
CypNest saves its nesting results as an NRP2 package: the plates, the parts with their area, the thickness and density of the material, and the cutting time of every nest. This module reads those packages for Nest Importer, so each nest becomes a manufacturing order without retyping anything, with the part weights CypNest's own report prints and the laser time it planned.
Part weights are worked out from the file and match CypNest's report.
The cutting time becomes the expected duration of the Laser operation.
Mirrored parts stay separate products, as they are on the shop floor.
From an NRP2 package to a manufacturing order
Upload your NRP2 files
In Manufacturing, Import Nests, add one or more NRP2 files. Each one shows CypNest NRP2 as its format, with the orders and plates it will create, before anything is imported.
Set up the import once
The Nest Import settings give the orders their operation type and laser work center, and decide where the sheet's weight comes from and whether parts are scaled to it.
Every part, weighed as CypNest weighs it
Each nest is a confirmed order with the plate as its component and the parts as its by-products. A part's weight is its net area times the material's thickness and density, the same figure CypNest prints, and the cost share is computed from it.
The laser time is already planned
The cutting time CypNest calculated, including travel, piercing and delays, becomes the expected duration of the order's Laser operation, so planning starts from the real figure.
Considerations
- Installs Nest Importer. The import itself, its settings and the orders it creates come from Nest Importer, which is installed with this module.
- No remnant by-product. The file marks remnants but gives no size for them, so no remnant is created and the parts carry the whole cost.
- Product codes. Plates and parts are found by the code in brackets in their name, or by the name itself; the _FlatPattern suffix added by SolidWorks is dropped.
- Mirrored parts. A part and its mirror, such as HDX-H-005 and HDX-H-005M, are two products.
- Any display unit. CypNest stores lengths in millimetres whatever unit it shows, so weights are right in either system.
- Weight of the plate. The plate's weight in the file is worked out from its outline; the Nest Import settings say whether that or the product's weight is used.
